Hey guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself and say that i have a 69 Suzuki T125 and also a 69 Suzuki T500.
The 125 runs, the 500 is a new project. I'm looking for a few parts for it.
Does anyone have rubber intake manifolds in good useable condition? no cracks and such. there are two types of intake manifolds for these bikes. solid metal ones and rubber ones. like i said, i'm looking for rubber ones. Also, i am looking for a battery tray, and a left cover that's opposite of the oil tank, and a steering damper knob that doesn't have any chunks broken out of it.
If anyone has these parts please let me know!
Also, since this is a new project, i've yet to do the research on which tires are available for this bike. I'm looking for modern style tires -not- the original enduro style ones that came on it.
What's the widest rear tire someone has successfully put on a T500 without having to change anything?
also, does anyone know where i can find performance tuned pipes for a reasonable price? They need to be well made so as not to scrape the ground in sharp turns. a problem with tuned pipes on these bikes is exactly that. most people make them hang too low.
on another note.....
if anyone needs to buy a rear fender with the tail light assembly minus the lens, and handlebars, i've got you covered.
i also have a few misc. parts for a T125 as well, like carbs, a useable transmission, and things of that nature.
Hi Mitchberry, I have a steering damper knob, attached to the rod with the threads on the bottom end broken off. The knob is still in good shape. Its yours for the cost of shipping if you want it. It came off a 71, but its the same as the ones on my 1970 Titan. _________________ Scott

If not, then it's a coincidence. But, if so, you mentioned you had another on a bike that you'd sell, but didn't like my offer $$ and never emailed me back to negotiate.
It probably wasn't you, it just seems like a strange coincidence.
I definitely appreciate the offer though. The problem is, there's no way to repair one that's been broken. the knob itself won't exchange. it was molded onto the shaft.
The reason i needed one was because a few of the ears were broken off of it. So, i used my grinding wheel to smooth them out , sanded them down, and made it look like they were "meant" to be that way. it looks ok now. not perfect, but... good enough i think. it's harder to twist, but in fairness, the steering damper really doesn't do much anyway on my bike.
Just out of curiosity though, would you happen to have a spare front fender laying around? I cant seem to find one affordably priced. Honestly, it doesn't even have to be a T500 fender.. any chrome fender that seems like it would fit will probably do as long as it can be modified.
What year are the handlebars? Do they have the cross brace? I need some bars for my '75, I'm currently using an extra set off my '68 CL350.
the ones i was talking about have been long since sold on ebay, as well as most of the stuff i had when i posted this. however.................
i do still have the original bars from the T125. they have a cross bar in the middle.
That's what they look like on a bike..
I'm in north Austin if you want them for a few bucks. they MAY be bent. i could never really tell for sure. so.. given that, they aren't OBVIOUSLY bent or anything.. they were about the same width as the ones that were on my T500, except the T500 one had a square cross bar (most don't, so that one may have been aftermarket)
i dunno.. maybe 10 bucks or something like that.. i'm flexible.. i sold the other for $27 via ebay. i plan to stick these on ebay too if you don't want them.
OH.. as for T500 parts, do you need an air cleaner box? i bought one and it doesn't fit my year model, but would fit yours. i got it for 20 total, i'll give it to you for the same. otherwise it's going back on ebay too.
In fact, i'll give you the two things for 25 if you're interested.
OR...
i will trade if you have either front or back fender for the bike that you don't need. i really don't care much about the shape since i'll paint it anyway.
actually, as for a rear fender, it doesn't even have to be from a T500.. any brand make and model will do as long as it fits between the arms and isn't plastic.
let me know. send me a PM. i have a gas tank i'd sell for cheap in it's current condition. maybe $20.. it needs to be re-bondo'd and painted. i kind of plan to use it to test my bodywork skills, then stick it on ebay and try to profit on it... but... i don't really need it. so if you want a spare, i got that for you.
That's pretty much all i have left in parts at the moment for the T500. lots of stuff for the T125 though. like, an entire transmission.
The 125 itself is for sale at the moment too.. 1200.. i've got about a dozen bites on it, 2 very serious ones, but, it's worth mentioning... things fall through sometimes.
wow... those pics are huge... SORRY...
for what it's worth, the 125 is a running bike now and has been completed. i just.. don't have many pics of it finished. i've spent most of my time riding it instead of taking pics of it. lol

Thanks for the offer on the parts but there is really nothing I need except for the handlebars (non-cross braced version) and the little plastic cover/separators for the oil lines.
I should have my T500M registered and plated tomorrow so I can enjoy some of this great 75 degree weather like we had today. _________________ Mike Nellis

Due to the rearward positioning of the carbs after 1972, the oil pump cover was modified, and the plastic cover for the oil lines was deleted. It won't even fit. BTDT. What do you mean by "separators"?

Stu
Stu, thanks for the lesson the oil cover. Since I'm so new at
this T500 stuff my nomenclature and parts ID leaves a little
to be desired. Apparently, the oil cover is what I'm referring
to. The parts manual I have only goes to 1974 and mine is a
'75 so I don't know what is suppose to be here, certainly not a
washer and screw.

in regards to the cover, this is what belongs there... at least on a '69.. please ignore the fact that my bike is dirty and that some of the paint was eaten away when gas flooded out of the carbs a few weeks ago..... lol
wow... apparently, you have to scroll way to the right to see the image

No, not a washer and screw. The white plastic cover for the oil lines originally fit as mitchberry shows. Your carbs are at least an inch to the rear of his, and you can see in his picture that the float bowl of your right carb would foul the cover. The part # for the cover was superceded to another number. If that later number actually fit models after '72, I haven't seen it and I'm not aware of it. But then, there are a lot of things I'm not aware of. And there are guys on this forum with a lot more exposure to the T500 than me. Maybe one will chime in. Thanks again. Either way, that part is no longer available (NLA as we say in the Honda world) so I'll have to come up with a cleaner cover than the washer and screw or make an aluminum cover of my own design.
Thanks for the link to Sundial site, I was just made aware of it yesterday.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a new steel rear sprocket? The previous owner installed a new chain and rear sprocket but he put a 45t on it probably thinking he'd overwhelm the prospective buyer with mass quantities of acceleration. All he succeeded in doing was causing the motor to buzz at 5500 rpm at a little less than 70 mph. If nothing else, at least it'll pull red line now even though the top speed will probably be just short of 90 mph.
paul miller motorcycles has just about any T500 part you could ever want, BUT........ they tend to screw up at least 1 thing on your order 90% of the time. on the other hand he tends to fix it most of the time....
i got a rear steal sprocket from him a while back. i ordered a 33T he sent me a 35T.... but.. whatever... it works...

That's because you loaded a full-size picture in the thread that hasn't been downsized. Pics with a pixel width of no more than 600 work well in forums. _________________
