Well, if folks get screwed and they don't speak up, where else are they going to air their detractors dirty linen? Might just as well be here.
I'd much rather hear of really good experiences too, but if somebody has a horror story, let it be said. The opponent might get something to say if alerted. Too much candy will rot your teeth. _________________

I think that this is the perfect place to air your dissatisfaction with a service. The world is full of shops that claim to do restorations, but most fail to do restorations, but instead do what i call hot rod restorations, lots of chrome and a paint job, most of what comes out of these shops is so over done. If this is what you do say it, but don`t claim to do restorations. The trouble is that most of the people who really know what is correct are dying off sad to say. And the so called techs who work on these bikes are really no more than parts replacers. I have over 150 motorcycles and have been collecting for 35yrs. and there are only a couple people that i would even consider taking a bike to.

I agree with you guys, but at the same time . . .who knows if the poster complaining knows what they are talking about. I'm not pointing to this thread as an example, but say someone gets an engine rebuilt and they put it in a bike and all the sudden it's all screwed up. He/She thinks its the company that rebuilt it that screwed up, but it could very well be due to some other factor. Maybe THEY missed something, you know?
It's just that a business is someone's livelihood. It's a dangerous accusation to make, is all. If you're going to do it, you better be damn sure that you're right about things.

...and to my original point, it was his FIRST POST. He made the special effort to join this forum to specifically post his bad experiences. My first thought is that he's not doing this to be helpful, but rather, to be vindictive against the company.
But yes, this forum IS the place to share your experiences, both good and bad.
It just seems a bit mean-spirited to make your first posting in a new community you've joined to be a bashing post.

If I got screwed, I'd certainly be looking for any outlet to display my dissatisfaction, whether I was a longtime poster or a n00b. I don't see what post count has to do with it.
There does seem to be some good support for the business though, maybe they should re-negotiate. When it comes to mechanics, documentation is everything. That's what video cameras are for. _________________

I would have to agree on that. I also having talked to many people in the restoration field also believe that there was something else going on there that the poster is not telling us. Often times we inherit someone elses unfinished project and the mistakes that the previous made (I experienced that many times).
