|
|
I remember working at a Honda dealership in my late teens, and they had a whole pegboard full of Honda Special Dealership tools that were unavailable to the general public.
I'm sure there are Knock-offs for some of these...namely the four lugged T-handle wrench made for taking off the "cloverleaf" nuts.
The nut in particular that I am trying to remove is the engine shaft (Drive/Primary) side of a 450 1972 K-4.
It looks to be about 28mm. outside dia. and the inside of the four fingers look like about 22mm.
I would use the standard punch method, but it's down inside the centrifical oil basket.
Any help or guidance in making a tool would be appreciated...
Oh by the way; can anyone tell me which direction the threads are? (they appear to be r.h.-threads)
Thanks, Dave _________________ TOO MANY BIKES TOO LITTLE TIME |

Alternator puller and oil pump nut tool are both available at Motion Pro for about $10 each.
I don't think anything on a 450 has reverse threads.

I made mine by grinding down a 1/2 inch socket. It aint pretty, but it works. besides, I'm a cheap b^$tard and if I can waste an hour instead of spending a buck, I will!

Hey Paul,
The thought crossed my mind, but I couldn't get my hands on a socket that I wanted to sacrifice to the Motorcycle Gods.
I found a place locally in Florida that dropped it in UPS yesterday and I'll have it this AM...Much sooner than hunting for a socket and spending half my afternoon at the grinder.
Thanks _________________ TOO MANY BIKES TOO LITTLE TIME |

out of the kindness of my heart I would help you out by taking that SR500 off your hands, you'd still have one 500 Yammie but maybe some of the other guys would step up and help out too |

Actually, funny you should mention the SR...I just received my Norton Manx gas tank and seat. I also have a custom built exhaust system to mimic the Manx system, with a Super Trapp. I am now working on a clear plastic lense for the number plate flyscreen.
As soon as my funding opens up a bit, I plan on ordering a flatslide Kehin to help boost the power
I probably should post this in the appropriate spot, but do you know of a place that specializes in PERFORMANCE PARTS for that puppy dog motor? _________________ TOO MANY BIKES TOO LITTLE TIME |

| I have probably 72 or more motorcycles in my posession right now. I can't keep count. It flucuates weekly. I need some prescription drugs to help with my illness, or maybe just more bikes will cure me! |

Maybe you should lay off the drugs... (It will leave you more money to buy more bikes) _________________ TOO MANY BIKES TOO LITTLE TIME |
