Anyone got any creative ideas for forum ranks? You know those title names that go along with the helmets. Any suggestions on how many posts it would take to acheive each level?

Be creative and have fun with this. Cool

Thanks,

Dave

You would Ray.

Well, everyone does a rank based on CC's. But that seems a little boring.
Don't want to be model specific because some may feel left out.
Makes it a little hard.

I think it should be something like this. But I am just shooting them out there.

Squid 1-50 posts
Weekend Warrior 50-250 posts
Commuter 250-500 posts
Knuckle Buster 500-1500 posts
Gear Head 1500-3000 posts
Full Throttle 5,000 + posts
Lost Hope 10,000 + posts

Top rank should be

1982 Eddie Lawson Replica

Then

1983 CB1100F

Then

1978 GS1000S

Then

1987 FZR750RT

You get the picture. Very Happy

CB750F

CB1100F

CB1100R

CB1100XX

Top Rank should be what it is, Dave's.
Then the next in line should be a CBX then a CB1100F and so on leaving any Kwaks off the list because they didn't rate back then what makes you think they rate now. Razz

Do I detect a slight bias? ROTFL

I sort of like the first suggestion best. It’s unique but possibly throw in a small twist on it.

Perhaps lower the post requirement on squid so people can get out of the sandbox easier. And then for the top rank let people have their own custom rank. I found a nifty little forum hack recently that makes it possible.

I trimmed the list down to 5 because there are only 5 helmets in the set.

Squid 1-25 posts (1 helmet)
Weekend Warrior 25-250 posts (2 Helmets)
Commuter 250-1500 posts (3 helmets)
Full Throttle 1500-3000 (4 helmets)
3000+ Custom Title (5 helmets)

I’m not exactly sure if I have the post requirements right but you get the idea. Those can be set to anything as long as it works out to 5 different ranks.

This sounds like a cool idea. Then you know who the regulars are. This forum is going to make me buy a new computer. I will have to sell a bike. God forbid!

Yea I sort of like the custom rank myself. Rank does have its privileges. LOL Cool
Oh BTW brain fart on my part I forgot there are actually 6 ranks because the first one is 0 helmets. So I added the extra rank. Here is the way it goes now.

Squid 1-25 posts (0 helmets)
Weekend Warrior 25-250 posts (1 Helmets)
Commuter 250-1000 posts (2 helmets)
Gear Head 1000-2000 posts (3 helmets)
Full Throttle 1500-3000 (4 helmets)
3000+ Custom Title (5 helmets)

I feel privileged to have been a part of that. Thank you.
And if anyone ever wants to change it, don't worry about hurting my feelings.
I was just throwing some ideas out there.

Ray and I are going to post even if there were no numbers. Or at least I would. Even if it's a pointless post. How else do you get to know the people you are talking to?

A custom title at 3000 posts, nice. How many posts are there here? Who is the post leader? Who has actually helped a biker with a problem?

Do some of your members come from other forums with lotsa oil changes and creative roadside fixes and motor rebuilds?

There might actually be better criteria than simply post count, pardon me for saying so Wink
