Hey guys,
I'm having a tough time coming up with a set of matched tires for my '72 CL project. This bike will be ridden, so
I'd rather use a modern tire. But the 3.00-19 front and the skinny rim are problems. I can lace on rims for a 3.25-19 and a 4.00-18. Has anybody tried those sizes on a CL350? I'm wondering about clearance from the Swingarm and fenders.

Hey geezer:
I have a CB so both wheels are 18"

I'm using Bridgestone spitfire's. Don't know if they come in a 19" front? sorry.

My 71 CL350 has a CB 18" front wheel and I just bought a Kenda 100/90-18 for $52.00 mounted & balanced.

Ya mine were more than $52. I have used kenda challengers on a different bike. They gave good mileage, (didn't wear quickly) and did pretty good in the wet too.

For you guys wanting period correct rubber, you might try this guy - http://minneapolis.en.craigslist.org/mcy/1024332913.html. I just ordered the 3.00-19 and 3.50-18, both universal treads. I checked his rep on the 305 forum, and they were really happy with his service and with the tires. These are fresh tires, not 10 year old leftovers.

Stu:
That Craiglist post is expired- can you provide contact information for the Cheng Shin seller?

This is too cool. I just joined and the topic I'm interested in is on top. I just got a 1968 CL350 in primo condition. Only 1100 miles and runs like a top. But... it has the original rubber on it and needs tires bad. I'm kind of off the beaten path and usually buy online. I was getting tires for my 1980 CB125 at Dratv.com but I need another source for this bike. (they are actually CT90/110 folks)

What's your favorite online tire source that will have what I need on a budget.

Thanks, Edy

Bikegeezer may have gotten a thumbs up from some guys on the other forum as far as the date code of this particular batch of tires. I know what he means about getting 10 yr old "New" tires. I got a too old "new" Dunlop one time. A little info....... http://www.amadirectlink.com/roadride/Riderresc/tires.asp A tire guy once told me that some manufacturer's may have a different code "Pattern" than what you may see in a "tire reading" chart and you have to contact them for their way of displaying the Government required markings.

No need to apologize to anybody........I was just assuming that is what happened about the tires or something similar. You posted a for sure source at any rate......might help somebody in the future.

Yeah, I see it expired. He put it up again. Try this one. Price including shipping to Phoenix was $108 for the pair, and I also bought tubes and rim strips from him.

. His email is whgray53 [at] aol [dot] com. His name is Bill. BTW, I asked for the tires' production date codes before I ordered. They're both 3408 - 34th week of 2008.

I received the tires yesterday, and they're exactly what I wanted on this old CL. I'd have gone with Avons if I were actually planning to use the bike daily. But these will ride and handle plenty good enough for the limited use they'll get, and they look period-correct. $128 including shipping for 2 tires, 2 innertubes, and 2 rim strips. That's hard to beat.

So the fender clears the 100/90 in the front with no problems?
