Day glo is a great color. I have been thinking of painting my CB550K that color or Hot Pink. Still not sure. But then I want to tell the World that I am secure in my manhood.

LOL! Well, I've decided that I'll forgo the dayglo then, I don't want the world to think I have any kind of manhood to be secure about. I just turned 35 and I'm not ready to be one of those creepy moustached old ladies just yet. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I brought the bike home last weekend. It definitely needs TLC. Oh - and I've confirmed it - good guess on the 1980 CM200T - that was close. It's a '79 which makes it a 185. I still wish it was a '73 CB350, but hey - this will be a GREAT starter bike for me I think, and a great learning bike. I've decided I'm going to just do a complete teardown on it this winter and replace everything rubber on it, replace some of the wiring, and clean the hell out everything. My goal is to do a complete restoration with it, from the frame up. I think it'll be the best way for me to learn how these things work, as well as the best way to be absolutely confident with it that no stone has gone unturned. I don't want to wonder if I've missed anything while I'm careening down I5 at 70 mph on my way to work one morning. For that matter, I don't want to wonder while I'm toodling along at 25 on my way to the freeway!

I know this bike is not the coolest or greatest bike to have - but it's my first, and I am SO STOKED about it and this project!!!

Well You don't have to worry about getting up to 70 with a 185
That is except for it blowing up at that speed.
But it will be a good bike to learn repairs on and to ride.

Also Lets hope you never turn in to one of those women with mustaches. Laughing
ok gess it is not a laughing matter Wink

I say go for it and if you are comfortable with it, then do it. This is coming from a guy who use to ride a 150cc Honda Benly for two years before getting another bike. I did find the side covers, they are from a 1980 or 81 model I think, but the interesting thing is that they are NOS. I am still wondering how I got them, considering that the bulk of my stuff is used.
