Welcome TZ owner. We have a few members that have TZ's. I would like to own one some day. How many cylinders does that TZ750 have?? I have an RZ and an RD350. Cool stuff! This is a great forum. It's an in-line transverse mounted 4 cylinder. The 1974 models were 700 cc buy still called 750s. Mine has the 750 top end with some other modifications.
I was a member of VJMC years ago but didn't do much with the club. Now that I'm retired maybe I can get more involved. I used to work as a mechanic at a bike dealership in the 70s and still enjoy working on old bikes.
Here is my stock 1972 DS7 with 2,400 original miles. This bike became the RD250 the following year. I picked this one up recently, it's a blast to ride. Also my 1987 SRX250, only imported one year in limited numbers. This bike is also all original with 2,500 miles and was bought from a dealer, who took it in trade years ago and had it in his personal collection. Both bikes are ridden locally on occasion. I also have a very nice original 1975 DT175 enduro (for sale), 1975 RD250 that needs to be brought out of hibernation & refreshed (I'll get to it one of these days), and a 1976 RD125 (project bike, also for sale).

Well i'm new to yamaha's, and this is my first project. Pulled it out of my grandmothers barn last weekend in NH. 67' yds5 with 1092 original miles! Has been sitting for some time and is full of barn funk, but should turn out nicely. Any good parts sources?

Bill Denton here, moderator of yam650 [at] micapeak [dot] com so you know I'm a yamaha fan. First bike ever was a 1970 Yamaha Mini-enduro and I've owned mostly Yamahas ever since. I currently have:
I'm always looking for more, too, especially a nice XS750/850 triple. My ultimate collection goal is to have six bikes with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 cylinders. I already have 1, 2, 4, and 6 nailed with the SRX600, XS650E, GPz1100 and CB-X and an XS triple would fill the 3-slot.

Is there a 5 cylinder model out there waiting for you?Something is telling me that Honda had a 5 cylinder Moto-GP engine but perhaps my mind is playing tricks on me.
I'm aware of various 5 cylinder car engines in the 80's and 90's.

5-cylinder might be problem RCV211,RC174 custom made a trike with the old Audi 5 cylinderlumb I run out of options, nah wait a minute, there was something at the ol' days with a 5 "star" engine in the frontwheel can't remember the brand but it wasn't a succes due to the enourmous gyroscopic effect that made itvirtually impossible to steer

Thanks for the compliment. these are pretty hard to come by. I spent a lot of time detailing it. Parked it next to a $12,000 Ducati at the local Main st. bike night. People passed right by it and seemed to be mesmerized by the SRX. I've spent a lot of time staring at it myself. The DS7 is currently undergoing refurbishment with a complete new top end, carburetor restoration, replacement of all rubber grommets, crank seals, fork seals, and a meticulous detailing. It will be ready for spring. I've just dug my '75 RD250 out of the shed and have begun the process to revive it from its 25-year hibernation.
That YDS5 will be a very cool project and is worthy of a full restoration. I think the Yamahas of the 60s are very cool. On the acquisition list is a blue 1967 YR-1 350. Anybody have one for sale?
I just got my first Yamaha last night. Its a 1982 Maxim 400 I had found on my local CL. I picked it up for $300 (huge thanks to cartfreak71 ) It seems my camera date is off... It isnt running right now, and it needs a couple parts.. but it will be a good project...
