I have a 1990 1100 Katana (I know its not vintage but it's getting there). The clutch is very low and very dirty so i am changing the fluid in it. I sucked the old fluid out of the master cylinder, cleaned it of all the dirt that had accumulated, refilled it and put the cover back on. I pumped the lever a few times, held it to the bar and opened the bleeder. After doing this a few times the clean fluid started to come out of the bleeder (though it is not as clear as the fluid I put in). When I depressed the lever on the fourth or fifth try it went right to the bar with no resistance at all. I am thinking there is air trapped near the master cylinder. Does anybody know if the lever should be pulled in when I loosen the banjo fitting to bleed the air or have any other suggestions to what I need to do to fix this. Thanks
