Glenn needs to upgrade his Internet connection. If he has DSL, needs to go to T1, T2, T3... _________________ ...Brian

Brian, nice to see you buddy! Did you get that fairing all squared away? Pictures?? I am sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday, I was covered in brake grease and fluid while totally redoing my girlfriends brakes on the honda. Along with a full tune up. Her freaking wheel cylinders were pissing out on both rears... Then a line broke... It was a long day to say the least.
So sorry I didn't get back to you... So hows the bike?? _________________ -Ben

Sunday I got so frustrated in getting everything lined up, I did manage to get the MM cluster on but the angle was almost horizontal. It made them useless. I said screw it and started to put the 750 stuff back on. I couldn't go riding even if you didn't have to do the brakes. It made the gauges useless.
Then this morning, I had an idea. Everything is lined up but I have to use the stock gauges. I don't see how you can use the MM without modifying the 1100 bracket to move the fairing forward. I'm toying with the idea of putting the GL1000 gauges into the stock housing and use the odometer space for a VDO voltmeter. If I can't get it to work, and I feel bold, I will look for other gauges. In the meantime I will fix my 150MPH speedo from the parts bike and drop that in.
I do have a concern about the semi-exposed wiring. The 750 has all the connections inside the headlight housing. I have to change some of the butt connectors to Molex for better weather resistance.
I guess I should have PM this to you, rather than hijack this thread. But I miss the CB1100.net forum. There is a lot more info there than at any other forum. Glenn has to increase his Internet bandwidth. I will send you pictures when everything is done. _________________ ...Brian

So whats in it for someone to have a website?? Do they make money on advertising?
What is it that makes a person with a life want to start a website.?
Then have to deal with that as well.
I have to say..I dont know the first thing about the internet.
Its like going to your friends house.
You know how to get there but if someone asked directions you`d be lost.
I really apritiate the fact that they are here but I could see someone saying "screw it" and just pulling the plug.
What is this all about?? |

What?
I am not sure what your talking about Zman. But... I don't see a reason to complain about cb1100f.net,(not saying your complaining zman, I am not sure what your saying.) Glenn is not around to make money. He is doing us a service, we should thank him for what he does. The site going down is fine with me, these things happen. We almost had to force him to take donations.. So stop complaining everyone! I would like to see any of you complainers to organize a better site?? Put up or shut up.
Brian, post anything you want in this thread, including pictures of your bike... I shall call it, the lost cb1100f.net members thread. _________________ -Ben

Ben,
I couldn't work on the bike today... had to conduct business in Stonybrook, took all day. Will get pictures up tomorrow.
Anyone know why cb1100.net isn't up? Is it because of funding? _________________ ...Brian

NO, it has nothing to do with funding.
Glenn said that the site is broken and he does not have time to fix it now so we have to wait.
The man has a life outside of www.cb1100f.net {Wife & kids} and will get to fixing the site when he has time. _________________ Ray #1

Glenn should be proud to have taken his interest and creating a service that many have come to depend on. _________________ ...Brian

I am willing to bet you that he sits there at his throne wearing a red devil suit and has a shit eating grin on his face all the time because he controls www.cb1100f.net which has become a bigger beast than everyone gives it credit for.
Glenn knows that people like us {Me, you & Ben} spend a considerable amount of time on his site, more than he says is healthy for us and I believe he is pretty much burnt out on it too.
Glenn has a job working with computer stuff and is around it all day long then he comes home to his wife, kids & dinner and then answers 2000 emails from guys on the site that can't figure out how to wipe their own asses.
I have stopped bothering him with emails and only annoy him with my way too many posts because I finally realized that he has a life aside from us and does not need to be annoyed any more. So one less email from me is a start.
Believe me, I miss the site as much as the next guy but, Glenn can only do so much. _________________ Ray #1

I know how Glenn feels. I too, after working with computers all day, the last thing I want to do is work on them. Glenn at least has a wife to help him. I'm a single father who has custody of two kids. So I know how it feels and try not to be consume by it all.
If Glenn is burnt out and wants to take a break, I can host the site on my web server.
And yes, you are right... we do spend too much time on bikes!!! _________________ ...Brian

Ray,
How difficult do you think it will be have a sub-forum for DOHC 'F's under the Honda forum here? _________________ ...Brian
