Thanks that was a top tip I removed the drainage bolts and the RH side out came the gearbox oil, The LHS was dry, the centre bot was already broken off so could not remove that another job for the tea ...

I put new plugs in NGK B7HS and when I had it appart there was very little carbon buildup I could check the float settings again but I think they are ok.

Yes the plug is wet but I guess next step is to check the timing. It is very cold here -6 would that have any impact to the fuel mix and stop it starting.
