That has a much better chassis than the twin shock.
I had one for a few years, built it out almost to MX spec.
Quicker in a drag race than Kawasaki KX420

My personal opinion on the CB360 is that it was perhaps the worst motorcycle Honda ever made during the 70's.

If your not racing, don't waste your money, even if you are racing, just get cheapest you can as you will need to re-jet them
You only need 26 or 28mm carbs which are cheaper and easier to jet on CB ...

Kirkin is right, that has an oil slinger on mainshaft which collects oil to feed big end.
If you run pre-mix, big eng will fail . there are modifications you can make to use premix but a full engine ...

If you look a it you'll see the sump is much lower than the clutch cover so you wont get all the oil out. Have you removed head and cylinder? That can be done with engine in frame on 360.

Haven't read all the posts but did you gap the points and set timing first?
You have to do it through holes in flywheel face.
Its going to be loads of fun if you've never done it before ...

They go on with the number UP and 'notch' DOWN.
Its common for automotive guys to think they are 'ridge dodger' rings.

In this instance I think the X after model means its a limited production?
GS650G = standard,
GS650GL = 'custom'
X in prefix means its 4 valve ...

The slides are also left and right handed.
the slot on side has to be in correct carb or it wont close all the way down
(also a common fault on RD Yamaha's)

If the pistons go up and down together then they should be at top dead center when 'o' is at 12 (or more correctly, in line with cylinder center line, its a sloper?) Otherwise, left piston TDC

Honda uses Kei-Hin carbs.
From what I've seen, no-one seems to have Mikuni round slide carbs properly jetted for four strokes.
If you could find a downdraft from an early C90 it may help but I thi ...
