The '70 model is designated as a RT1, the '71 is RT1-B, '72 is RT2. Most parts in common for RT1 and RT1-B, but changes for RT2 and RT3.

If the Honda setup is the same as the Suzuki, the wavy oil ring goes into the slot first, then the two others go in beside to hold the wavy one in......compression rings go in according to your manual ...

In a word...yes....same thing will happen if the wire to one blinker gets disconnected (like if you're fiddling with wires inside the headlight bucket).

Ronno, at least you picked a good bike to learn a bit on...the DTs are really simple to work on. You should have started on doing the clutch yourself, and the carb on those is easy to clean and rebu ...
